2024 MACSS Teacher of the Year
Jamie Matthew

Danni Parcell - K-8 Art and Jr. High Writing
[email protected]
I was born and raised in East Lansing, Michigan. When I graduated from high school, I moved to Missoula where I worked various jobs to get through college including fighting fires with the U.S. Forest Service. I met my husband fighting fire – he was a smokejumper and I was a “ground pounder”. The kids at school know him as Deputy Bob, since he is the northernmost deputy of Missoula County. We have ten kids, eight of which we enjoyed raising in the Swan. They now live all over the country including Alaska and Hawaii, where we enjoy visiting them and their kids. Besides loving the outdoors, I love to make and design quilts, rag baskets, and cards. I teach preschool, physical education, Jr. high art, and assist with Jr. High math, which is fun since I enjoy teaching kids of all ages!
